VERNON – The City of Vernon is preparing for the return of its Independence Celebration next Saturday, July 3.
The event will kick of will the downtown parade at 4 p.m., immediately followed by festivities at the Vernon Sportsplex, where country music artist Christon Birge will take the stage to provide live music for his hometown.
This free community event will include vendors and childrenÂ’s activities with concessions available.
The evening will culminate with a fireworks presentation that will begin shortly after dusk.
Parade line-up will begin at 3 p.m. at Vernon City Hall with no pre-registration required.
