Sasser re-elected to Chipley City Council
CHIPLEY John T. Tommy Sasser will retain his seat as Chipley’s Ward 2 representative after winning re-election Tuesday, August 3.
Sasser garnered 82 votes while challenger Jennifer Jones received 56. This upcoming term will mark Sasser’s fourth term.
Notably, just 138 of the City’s approximate 2,388 voters cast their ballots in the election, for a voter turnout of only about six percent. The City’s last election to have opposition was in 2017 when challenger Tracy Andrews defeated incumbent Lee Dell Kennedy for the Ward 3 seat. Voter turnout in that election was about 15 percent.
