Marianna woman in jail on drug and weapons charges

WASHINGTON COUNTY –A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Marianna woman on drug related charges. 

Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies initiated a traffic stop on November 9, around 6 p.m. near Coy Road and Highway 77, according to WCSO, there was an odor of burnt marijuana and perfume coming out of the vehicle. When contact was made with the driver, identified as Angela Jane Baxter, 40 of Marianna, she exhibited nervous behavior. A search of the vehicle found rolled marijuana, paraphernalia, methamphetamine and a handgun. 

Baxter is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a gun in the commission of a felony.
