One injured in early morning rollover accident

**UPDATE**

In the early morning hours of Dec. 23, a 26-year-old Bonifay woman was traveling northbound on Highway 79 when she over-corrected after missing a lane shift causing her vehicle to ultimately land upside down in a shallow pond.

The driver told Florida Highway Patrol she was tired and dozing off which caused her to miss the lane shift just south of Mallory Road. She then said she had to abruptly steer to the right which caused the vehicle to rotate in a clockwise manner. The vehicle rotated 180 degrees while traveling across the northbound lane onto the shoulder.

The car collided with an embankment and overturned once again over the embankment before coming to final rest northbound on its roof in a shallow pond on the east side of Highway 79.

The driver sustained minor injuries. FHP says possible charges are pending.
