A Jackson County fugitive was captured in Washington County on Feb. 14.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Task Force captured Garett Vandale Dickens, 38, at a residence on Shannon Lane.
Dickens had outstanding warrants out of Jackson County for robbery and murder with a firearm, stemming from a shooting in Marianna in October 2020. A female victim had been fatally shot behind a motel. Three men were initially arrested, Bryn Martin Spivey, Daquan Daren Walker and Devarrious Marshun Wimbush. In December 2021, a Grand Jury indictment was filed on Garen Vandale Dickens for first degree felony murder with a firearm.
Additional charges are pending further investigation.
