VHS commemorates Black History Month

Vernon High School held its Black History Program Friday, Feb. 25, featuring guest speaker Kevin Edwards.

Edwards, a Vernon native and 1984 graduate of Vernon High School, is a singer, songwriter and author who currently resides in Atlanta. Edwards released his first book in 2013, “Poetic Expressions – The Therapy Sessions.” He released his first children’s book in 2021 titled “Kevin Turns Fear into Feat.”

The school district recently purchased 725 copies of the book for elementary students in Chipley and Vernon.
