Chipley PD investigating early morning robbery


UPDATE

 One suspect is in custody and the second has been identified and charges are pending, according to Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson.

Maurice Shandre Stanley, 27, of Longs, SC, is charged with petit theft – second degree – first offense, aggravated battery, grand theft – more than $750 less than $5,000, and armed robbery.

 

 

 

UPDATE

According to Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson one suspect is in custody. CPD is still actively looking for the second suspect.

 

Chipley Police Department is currently investigating a robbery that occurred during the early morning hours of March 12, at the Marathon gas station on Highway 90.

According to CPD, two black males rushed the cashier on duty and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released.

CPD is working to identify the suspects. This is an ongoing investigation.
