Caryville man apprehended after fleeing from CPD


A wanted fugitive was apprehended after fleeing from Chipley Police Department on April 25.

Chance Spencer, 23, of Caryville was taken into custody without incident when officers with CPD found him hiding in a residential shed close to Brickyard Road.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol were instrumental in the apprehension of Spencer, according to a release from CPD. Spencer was wanted in Holmes County for child neglect and fleeing and eluding charges.

Spencer now faces charges in Washington County for resisting arrest without violence, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and introduction of contraband to a detention facility. Spencer will also be facing the charges out of Holmes County.
