Uncle stabs nephew, charged with aggravated battery


A Chipley man is behind bars after stabbing his nephew in an altercation on June 5.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies responded to a call regarding a physical altercation at around 7 p.m. on Pine Log Road. As deputies arrived on scene, the victim was standing at the end of the driveway with a visible puncture wound to his upper arm area. 

According to WCSO, the victim stated he and his uncle, 54-year-old, Anthony Scott Alumbaugh, of Chipley, had been involved in an argument which he had walked away from. The victim stated Alumbaugh quickly approached him from behind and they began fighting which led to him being stabbed.

Alumbaugh is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
