Vernon man jailed on drug charges

A Vernon man is behind bars after a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Monday morning.

A Ford truck driven by 25-year-old Traice Alexander Adams, of Vernon, was stopped on Highway 277 near Hartzog Road around 7 a.m. Sep. 19. The deputy noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle at which time Adams admitted to having smoked marijuana inside the vehicle the previous night, according to WCSO.

A subsequent search of the vehicle and of Adams’ person found methamphetamine.

Adams is charged with possession of controlled substance without a prescription.
