Chipley woman arrested in Sunday shooting incident

A Chipley woman was arrested Sunday after shooting her live-in boyfriend through the doorway of
their home.
Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived at a home on Prissy Lane in Chipley and found a
28-year-old gunshot victim. After securing the scene, Washington County EMS was dispatched to the
home.
Investigators found an argument had erupted between 26-year-old Qua’Miracle Jade Davis and her
boyfriend. According to WCSO, Davis grabbed a hammer and struck herself before exiting the home.
Davis went to her vehicle where she retrieved a gun and fired several shots toward the house with
the victim inside. One of the bullets entered through the front door striking the victim in the thigh. Davis
then fled the scene.
The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, Chipley Police Department officers located Davis who was then transported to
the hospital. Davis was treated for her injuries and cleared.
Davis is charged with firing a weapon into an occupied dwelling and aggravated battery with a
deadly weapon.
