Scottish Festival celebrates age-old traditions

The Chipley Presbyterian Church Scottish Festival and Highland Games and Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan were held on Nov. 19 at the First Presbyterian Church in Chipley.

The event saw vendors, music from Ennis Pruitt and Jig to a Milestone and entertainment from traditional Highland games. Members of different clans came to exhibit their skills in events such as weight over bar, caber throwing, Braemar stone throw and others.

The sounds of bagpipes and drums were heard throughout the day, courtesy of members of Emerald Coast Pipes and Drums and Panama City Pipes and Drums.

This year’s honored clan was Clan Hamilton.
