WCSO K-9 Hannibal helps locate missing child

Washington County Sheriff’s Office news K-9 Deputy Hannibal helped locate a missing child on May 30.

Washington County Telecommunications received a call at 10:30 a.m. in reference to a nine-year-old boy who had gone missing on the walking trails in Dogwood Acres.

While walking, the father realized his son had wandered off and made the call to WCSO.

Upon arrival on scene, Hannibal was enlisted to help in the search. The K-9 has dual-purpose training in narcotics and tracking and apprehension, it is because of this training the finding of the young boy was expedited.

This is the first find for two-year-old Hannibal since joining WCSO in March from Houston, Texas.

“We are so happy to have been able to reunite this young man with his family thanks to Hannibal,†Sheriff Kevin Crews said.
