The Washington County Board of County Commissioners recognized the Chipley Dixie Softball 8U All‑Star Team during its regular meeting on Thursday, July 16, for earning the title of 2026 Dixie Softball State Champions.
Coached by Tim and Lindsay Boone, Justin Burnham, and Eric Lockhart, the Chipley 8U team has maintained a perfect 8‑0 record throughout district and state tournament play, outscoring opponents 135‑29.
Commissioners commended the players and coaches for their dedication, teamwork, positive attitude, and work ethic, noting that their success reflects positively on both Chipley and Washington County.
The team will now advance to represent the State of Florida in the 2026 Dixie Softball World Series, which begins July 31 in Belleview.
