Multiple arrests made after Washington County Drug Task Force operation

Thirteen individuals are facing felony drug charges following an extensive investigation conducted by the Washington County Drug Task Force.

The investigation was led by the Washington County Drug Task Force, a joint effort between the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) and the Chipley Police Department, targeting individuals involved in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics throughout Washington County. 

Over the course of several months, investigators conducted numerous undercover operations focusing on individuals responsible for distributing illegal drugs within the community.

“During these undercover operations, our focus is on identifying and arresting those responsible for supplying illegal narcotics—not just the users, but the dealers,” said WCSO Sheriff Kevin Crews. “These individuals prey on our youth and those struggling with addiction.” 

The investigation resulted in arrest warrants being issued for 13 individuals on felony charges related to the sale of cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription medications. At this time, 12 individuals have been taken into custody, while one additional suspect remains wanted on outstanding felony warrants. 

“As we continue aggressively pursuing those who choose to sell illegal drugs in our county, we are seeing a positive impact on public safety,” Sheriff Crews added. “Every drug dealer removed from our streets makes our communities safer for our families, our children, and our future.”

Those arrested as part of this investigation and the charges they face are listed below:

• Sabrina Christine Hughes, 45, of Wausau – Sale of Methamphetamine
• Melissa Ann Harrison, 53, of Vernon – Sale of Schedule IV Controlled Substance
• Wayne Campbell Trotter, 62, of New Hope – Sale of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Use of Two‑Way Communication Device
• Mario Anteze Keith, 46, of Chipley – Sale of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Use of Two‑Way Communication Device
• Gabriella Diane Barnes, 34, of Chipley – Sale of Methamphetamine
• Ashley Nicole Sloan, 37, of Chipley – Sale of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Use of Two‑Way Communication Device
• Jennifer Lynn James, 24, of Wausau – Sale of Methamphetamine
• Johnny Dwayne Vickers, 51, of Chipley – Possession of Controlled Substance Without Prescription, Possession of Marijuana Less Than 20 Grams, Possession of Paraphernalia
• Dustin Ray Garland, 43, of Panama City – Possession of Controlled Substance Without a Prescription, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Weapon or Ammunition by a Convicted Felon
• Christopher Daniel Sawyer, 34, of Wausau, FL – Possession of Controlled Substance Without Prescription, Possession of Paraphernalia, Engaging in Criminal Offense With a Weapon
• James Michael Cox, 41, of Wausau – Sale of Methamphetamine and Unlawful Use of Two‑Way Communication Device

The following individual is still wanted on outstanding warrants:

• Willie Lee Nettles, 64, of Caryville – Sale of Cocaine
