Washington County deputies assist U.S. Marshals in arrest of wanted felon

Everette Kirchbabum

On Wednesday, August 5, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force after receiving information about the possible location of a wanted felon in Washington County.

Deputies assigned to the U.S. Marshals Task Force located the fugitive at a residence in Vernon, Florida. Everette Kirchbabum was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Washington County Jail on outstanding charges from the Panama City Police Department for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The charges stem from an incident on August 4, when Panama City Police officers responded to a disturbance in the Publix parking lot involving two men reportedly armed with machetes. Following that investigation, warrants were issued for Kirchbabum’s arrest on the aggravated assault charge.
