The Spanish Trail Playhouse will bring some of Broadway’s most memorable antagonists to the stage later this month with Broadway Villains: A Musical Celebration, a one‑night‑only cabaret concert set for Saturday, August 22, at 7 p.m.
The production highlights iconic villain characters from well‑known musicals, featuring solos, duets, and ensemble performances by a cast of familiar Playhouse performers: Rebecca Boggs, Jennifer Jones, Kevin Russell, Jasmine LaRocca, Rob Nixon, Collin Cowart, Kortney Cowart, and Hunter Williams.
The evening will include selections from The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King, Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Newsies, Jekyll & Hyde, Gypsy, Annie, Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, Hairspray, Waitress, Shrek the Musical, Assassins, She Loves Me, and others. Audience members can expect well‑known numbers such as “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” “Hellfire,” “Music of the Night,” “You’ll Be Back,” “Master of the House,” “World Burn,” and “Be Prepared.”
The event is sponsored in part by Florida Power & Light and Florida Arts & Culture.
Reserved seating is $17, which includes a $2 convenience fee. Children under 5 are not permitted. Tickets may be purchased online at spanishtrailplayhouse.com, by phone at 850‑638‑9113, or in person at the box office at 680 2nd Street in Chipley. The concert is not included in the Season 19 Member/Sponsor Package.
Spanish Trail Playhouse is an all‑volunteer community theatre currently in its 18th season, offering a range of productions from dramas and comedies to large‑scale musicals.
