Caryville swears in new councilman

CARYVILLE –  A new councilmember was sworn in when the Caryville Town Council met in regular session on July 13.

Michael“Brandon” Sasser fills Seat 1 on the council which was left vacant when Councilman Bill Pate passed away earlier this year.

Sasser will hold the seat until the next election for the position is held in 2023.

In other business, the Council approved raising the rates for the RV park facilities. The rates are as follows: $30 a day plus tax and $140 for the week plus tax. Spaces will no longer be available for rent by the month.

Town Hall received a new coat of paint and had epoxy laid on the floors after flooding in the building led to the carpet becoming mildewed. The repairs and improvements totaling $2,857 will be paid out of the building improvement fund.

Caryville Town Council will meet again in regular session at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 10.
