WCSO: ‘No credible threat’ found to RMS

CHIPLEY – Washington County Sheriff Kevin Crews took to social media Wednesday evening to assure parents that his agency has checked into a “possible threat of violence” at Roulhac Middle School.

Sheriff Crews did not elaborate on the basis of the threat but states several concerned parents have contacted the sheriff’s office about a rumor that an act of violence would take place at RMS on Thursday, Dec. 16.

“The School Resource Officers interviewed several students and found absolutely no credible information to substantiate these threats,” said WCSO said in a Facebook post. “Rest assured Sheriff Crews and staff will make every effort to ensure the safety of your children.”
