Christmas burglary suspect named

A burglary took place at a Second Street home on December 24, 2021, where firearms and a safe were taken. A Chipley man has been charged in the case.

On Feb. 23, the owner of the stolen firearms had recovered one of the firearms and provided information to Chipley Police Department in identifying a suspect, Tavares Ward, 21, of Chipley.

CPD conducted an investigation which resulted in two of three firearms being recovered as well as the safe. A warrant was issued for Ward who was served at the Holmes County Jail where he currently resides and is being held for local charges regarding this case.
