Chipley man in custody after high-speed chase.


A Chipley man is in custody after leading Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a high-speed chase on April 27.

 

WCSO deputies observed a male subject driving recklessly on a motorcycle near Highway 77 and Highway 273 and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as, 28-year-old, Justin Eugene Skipper, of Chipley continued driving. Skipper then made an abrupt turn onto Old Bonifay Road, refusing to stop.

Reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, Skipper was attempting to flee, according to a release from WCSO.

 

Approaching the intersection of Old Bonifay Road and Griffin Road, Skipper exited the roadway and crashed.

Deputies conducted a subsequent search of Skipper and found he was in possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Skipper did not sustain any injuries from the crash but was transport to a local hospital for evaluation.

 

Skipper is charged with fleeing and eluding, driving with license suspended or revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia
