One suspect shot by Chipley police officer, no other injuries reported


Update:

A suspect was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition Wednesday evening after he was shot by a Chipley police officer in the parking lot of the Walmart in Chipley.

Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson confirmed that police responded to a disturbance called in at 4:48 p.m. The officer made contact with a white male suspect, and shots were fired during an altercation. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds.

No other injuries were reported. Chipley Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol were on scene during the investigation.
