Washington County middle schoolers bring home BETA Club honors


Students at both Washington County middle schools participated in the National BETA CLub’s Florida State Convention on Friday, and many took home some of the event’s top awards.

Students from Vernon Middle School took home five fist-place awards, four second-place awards and three third-place awards.
“We are so proud of these students and their accomplishments! They represented Vernon Middle School well.” the school wrote in a Facebook post Friday afternoon.
Students at Roulhac Middle School left with four first-place finishes and three second-place finishes.
Kayson Hawkins of Vernon Middle School was elected state Jr. Beta vice president.

VMS Beta was also awarded the G.O.L.D. Key Award for at least 10% growth in convention attendance.
