Alford woman arrested on meth charges

An Alford woman was arrested on meth charges after driving recklessly at Walmart, on August 31.

A Be On the Look Out (BOLO) was received by Chipley Police Department officers for a sedan type vehicle that was reported to be driving recklessly. According to reports, the sedan had run over the curb at the entrance of Walmart, was unable to maintain lanes, nearly causing an accident.

CPD officers located the sedan parked at a car wash. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Aneesah Kent, was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. After several attempts, officers were able to wake Kent.

Interactions with the driver led the officer to request assistance from Washington County Sheriff’s Office K-9. 

An alert from the K-9, led CPD to conduct a search of the vehicle. The search found methamphetamine and a meth pipe in the vehicle.

Kent is charged with possession of controlled substance without a prescription (methamphetamine) and possession of paraphernalia.
