The Chipley Redevelopment Agency (CRA) awarded $62,300 in commercial grants during their Monday, August 17 meeting to two local property owners for improvements to their businesses.
Chad and Keisha Williams were awarded $50,000 for improvements to the property at 1284 Church Avenue, formerly known as the Gingerbread House. The grant will fund a new roof and HVAC system. Keisha Williams plans to renovate the property for use as a photography studio.
The CRA also awarded $12,300 to Cynthia Brown of Halo Salon, 689 3rd Street. The grant will support interior repairs and repainting, as well as sealing and repainting the building’s exterior.
The grants are intended to support improvements to commercial properties in Chipley and encourage continued investment in the community.
The CRA said new funding will become available in October for the 2026-2027 grant year.
The CRA’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, at 3:30 p.m. at the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
