Hundreds of seniors from Washington and surrounding counties were vaccinated with their first dose of the Moderna vaccine Wednesday at the old Chipley High School.
More than 400 doses were given by the Washington County Health Department to seniors age 65 plus, many of whom arrived hours before the 9 a.m. start, standing bundled and masked in the 36-degree weather in a line that quickly snaked around the side of the building.
Holmes County Health Department vaccinated about 500 seniors the previous day in Bonifay. Both organizations plan additional distributions.
