At approximately 12:10 a.m. on June 23, 2024, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of erratic behavior at a local residence. A white male, later identified as 38-year-old Brandon Shelly Peoples, was reportedly causing a commotion on the front porch, banging on the door, and shouting.

Upon arrival, deputies observed Peoples seated on the front porch and promptly made contact with him. Their investigation revealed that Peoples had been involved in a vehicle accident on Maddox Springs Road and subsequently walked to the residence in his distressed state. Due to his erratic behavior, deputies questioned Peoples about his drug use, to which he admitted to consuming methamphetamine.

Brandon Shelly Peoples was arrested and subsequently booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of methamphetamine possession. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing drug-related issues within the community.
