Thomas Register announces candidacy for superintendent position

Thomas Register has officially announced his candidacy for Washington County Superintendent of Schools.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of superintendent for the Washington County School District,” he said. “With a deep commitment to public education, I am honored to have an opportunity to bring both my passion and experience to this role.”

The statement went on to read:

“Throughout my 15 years in education serving as a paraprofessional, teacher, club sponsor, coach, assistant principal, and principal, I have strived to uphold the principles of B.E.S.T. – Believe, Expectation, Student Centered, and Teacher Friendly. These values form the foundation of my philosophy and will guide my leadership as superintendent.

Believe: I strongly believe in the potential of every student and educator within the Washington County School District. I am committed to building an environment where belief in oneself and others is nurtured, empowering our students to reach their full potential and inspiring our educators to excel in their roles.

Expectation: I hold high expectations for both student achievement and the quality of instruction. By setting ambitious yet attainable goals, I aim to challenge our students to surpass their own expectations while supporting and equipping our educators to meet and exceed the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Student Centered: Our students are at the center of everything we do. As superintendent, I will prioritize their needs, safety, and success. By implementing student-centered initiatives, we will create an inclusive and supportive environment that caters to the unique strengths and challenges of each student.

Teacher Friendly: I recognize the invaluable contributions our educators make in shaping the lives of our students. It is my commitment to provide a teacher-friendly environment that fosters professional growth, collaboration, and well-being. By offering ongoing support, professional development opportunities driven by teacher needs, and open lines of communication, together we will support our teachers to help them excel in their roles.

In collaboration with our dedicated educators, staff, parents, and community members, I will work tirelessly to ensure that our school district provides an exceptional educational experience for all students. Together, we will cultivate an atmosphere of excellence.
