WASHINGTON
COUNTY – The search for a new County Fire Coordinator is underway after
Rick Kerr unexpectedly resigned from the position.
County Administrator Jeff Massey says the county is looking to fill the role.
“The county is on the hunt for someone to fill the position that Kerr left vacant,” said Massey. “We want and need someone who is really good to come in and do the job.”
Kerr, who was out on Family Medical Leave Act, recently returned to the position but did not stay long when
he handed in his immediate resignation citing personal reasons. Massey
says it is not his place to speculate on the reasoning but to wish Kerr
well and move forward with the business of filling the vacancy.
“I cannot say why he resigned,” said Massey. “I can say that we wish him the best in the future and that we must carry on with the business of Washington County.”
