The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a local man for a murder that took place in Panama City.
WCSO deputies arrested Kyle Michael Porter, 24, of Chipley, in connection with the death of Randy Joseph Lynn of Panama City.
According to law enforcement reports, WCSO received a call Saturday, April 27, in reference to a shooting that had occurred on Diamond Head Lake.
Investigators stated that according to the evidence and statements given, three coworkers and social acquaintances were together at Porter’s house for a day of fishing and socializing when they became intoxicated, and an altercation erupted.
“Porter produced a firearm during the alteration and fired, striking Lynn who succumbed to his injuries,” reported WCSO in a press release Friday, June 21. “Porter’s wife stated her husband called her from their dock and asked her to call law enforcement and an ambulance because he had just shot someone. When WCSO deputies arrived, all parties involved were still present.”
After an extensive investigation, WCSO investigators concluded their investigation with Porter being charged with one count of manslaughter for the death of Mr. Lynn.
Porter was booked into the Washington County Jail where he is currently awaiting bond.
