The much-anticipated third annual Flower Farm Tour Day is set to blossom in Vernon on Saturday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This unique event offers a day of exploration and education across two locations: Black Barn Blossoms and Fussell’s Daylily Farm.
Participants are invited to farm hop at their leisure between the two venues, which are renowned for their floral displays and commitment to agricultural education.
Black Barn Blossoms will host a series of free workshops designed to engage and enlighten both seasoned gardeners and newcomers. Highlights include a beekeeping workshop led by experts from Anderson Honey Farm, a beginner-friendly session on growing dahlias, and a practical class on seed starting.
In addition to the workshops, Arbor Lane Nursery will be on-site at Black Barn Blossoms, offering a variety of fruit trees and shrubs for sale. The farm will also sell potted flowers and freshly assembled bouquets. Fussel’s Daylily Farm will have an air laying class (rooting), history of garden with combined growing information, and games for kids and adults.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the gardens at both farms, providing a close-up view of the diverse and vibrant flowers in bloom. Fussel’s will also be selling roses, Gerber plants, as well as daylilies. To complement the floral attractions, food trucks and restrooms will be available at both locations, ensuring attendees can enjoy local culinary delights as they explore.
