Chipley High School hosted its 2021 Homecoming Parade on Friday with longtime Washington County School District employee Marvis Jett serving as Grand Marshall.
CHS Principal Alicia Clemmons said the school decided to spotlight Jett this year to thank her for more than half a century of service to the community and its education system.
“Marvis Jett is someone who we can depend on whenever a sub is needed, and she does it with a smile,” said Clemmons.
Jett began working in the district in 1967 as a full-time employee and was employed for 35 years. After retiring, she contined her service as a substitute teacher and is now in her 20th year working in that role.
The Chipley Tigers will take on Jay at 7 p.m. Friday night.
