A Chipley man is behind bars on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after a disturbance at Hardees on Dec. 21.
35-year-old Cody James Parrish was arrested by Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies when they responded to the restaurant after receiving reports of Parrish threatening to shoot an employee.
The victim told WCSO that Parrish was concealing something in his jacket which led her to be afraid. The store manager reportedly locked the doors of the establishment to prevent Parrish from entering.
WCSO states when deputies arrived on scene, a vehicle was in the parking lot with the passenger side door open with a man standing beside the car in the drive-thru area.
When deputies asked Parrish to speak with them, he refused and walked towards the restaurant door. According to WCSO, Parrish was concealing something in the left sleeve of his jacket and refused to comply with commands by continually reaching for his left sleeve.
While continuing to resist, Parrish was taken into custody.
Parrish is charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
