A Colorado man was arrested in Washington County Tuesday after a Florida Highway Patrol discovered her driving a stolen vehicle.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., while traveling eastbound on Interstate 10, a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol received a phone call reporting that the Bay County Sheriff’s Office was attempting to locate a recently stolen blue 2020 Honda 4 door with a Colorado tag.
As the trooper exited the interstate, he observed the vehicle in question enter onto the interstate and begin traveling eastbound. Waiting for confirmation and backup, they were able to make a traffic stop on State Road 77 just as the blue Honda exited the roadway.
Troopers safely took Michael Tyler Bauman, 22, into custody, and during a search of the vehicle, marijuana and paraphernalia was located.
In cooperation with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Highway Patrol will charge Bauman with Possession of a stolen vehicle as well as possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Bauman was booked into the Washington County Jail without further incident, and the car was released to the rightful owner.
