A 26-year-old man from Chipley was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 6, after a law enforcement pursuit on a motorcycle that ended with a foot chase at a local business.
Gabriel J Ragan-Reece was taken into custody after driving through a traffic stop while going over 70 miles per hour in a 35-mph construction zone on State Road 90. A Washington County Sheriff’s Office news release said Ragan-Reece also had a warrant out of Tennessee for a Violation of Probation for burglary and previous flee and elude charges.
“Ragan-Reese was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, reckless driving, resisting an officer without violence, failure to register a motor vehicle, and driving while license is suspended or revoked,” WCSO said.
Ragan-Reece entered the city limits Wednesday night “at high rates of speed,” according to law enforcement.
“To secure the safety of the public an intersection was blocked in an attempt to stop the motorcycle. The driver continued almost striking a Chipley PD vehicle,” the news release said. “Through stop signs and intersections, the driver continued traveling where he entered a gravel parking lot at a local business and lost control of the motorcycle causing it to crash.”
Ragan-Reece then reportedly got off the motorcycle and continued on foot before being apprehended.
