Kinsley Cook, a Bonifay resident, has recently come aboard Holmes County Advertiser and Washington County News as an intern.
Cook is currently a full-time student at Chipola College located in Marianna–one semester away from her associates of arts degree in communications. She is a ministry associate over media at her local church, First Baptist Bonifay. Cook is also a member of Chipola’s show choir group and has several years of musical background.
Besides performing on Chipola’s stage, Cook is known to many for her love for photography and has had interests in public relations/communications as a career for a few years now.
Last May, Cook graduated from Holmes County High School with high honors and was the recipient of the Diane Smith Scholarship, which she considers to be one of her best accomplishments.
Cook said she was honored to have been chosen for the monetary scholarship because it not only has provided aid for her college tuition, but also gave her an opportunity to write a submission centered around her heart for public relations and informing the public through media presence.
“I’m grateful and excited for this opportunity to learn and gain experience from the Kent Smith Group and give back to my community through the advertiser” says Cook.
Editor Collin Breaux said he is glad to have Cook helping out.
“I look forward to working with Kinsley and mentoring the next generation of media professionals,” Breaux said.
