According to the Washington County School District, evacuation and reunification protocols were activated, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office began their investigation.
In the meantime, students were evacuated to Kate M. Smith Elementary School for transportation home.
“We would like to extend a special thank you to the parents and guardians of all students at CHS, RMS, KMS and WAVE,†the district said in a social media post. “Also, thank you to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for the coordination of all safety personnel and agencies throughout the district that responded.â€
WCSO is working with federal partners on the investigation and states the robocall appears to have come from overseas. Fourteen threats have been called in to government agencies since April 7 with 95 calls being phoned in to similar organizations over the past several weeks throughout the nation and Canada.
“We will continue our investigation to include working with several other law enforcement agencies,†Sheriff Kevin Crews said. “I would like to commend the staff at CHS and the parents for their patience in dealing with this incident.â€
