The suspect in the robbery of the Tom Thumb convenience store has been apprehended according to Chipley Police Department.Â
When
the call came in on the morning of October 19, CPD responded and
immediately began an investigation. During that investigation a store in Jackson County was also robbed, by, who investigators believed to be, the same suspect.Â
Jackson County SheriffÂ’s Office received a tip stating the suspect was Joshua Davis, 21, of Caryville. CPD and JCSO worked jointly on the case and identified Davis as the suspect in both robberies. A warrant was issued for Davis with the Washington County SheriffÂ’s Office arresting him.Â
Davis is charged locally with, armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault with a firearm and theft.Â
Chief Scott Thompson says working together is key.Â
“I would like to thank the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case,” said Thompson. “Cooperation between agencies is paramount to the efficient and quick resolution of serious cases of this nature.”
