Chipley High School (CHS) student, Albert “Ace” McKinnie has been awarded the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) Class 1A Player of the Year. McKinnie was a 2024 Senior at Chipley High School and has played basketball multiple years.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Albert who has worked hard in his craft. He brings pride and joy to the school, district, and the entire community.” said Chipley High School Principal, Alicia Clemmons.
McKinnie is no stranger to leaving his mark on the court, with an average of 16 points per game and ranking Number 1 in the 1A District 2 for blocks, double doubles, and FGs made (points scored). McKinnie also signed with an NCAA Division 2 school, Mississippi College, to continue his basketball career at a higher level.
“We are very proud of Ace for being named FABC Class 1A Player of the Year. This is a huge accomplishment made possible by his hard work, good teammates and good coaches. He has a very bright future ahead of him.” stated Chipley High School Athletic Director, Marcus Buchanan.
