‘Deputy Jingles’ Toy Drive’ underway to help families

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is working to make Christmas a little brighter for local families with the return of the annual Deputy Jingles’ Toy Drive.

Jingles, who comes from the “Elf on a Shelf” family, was “deputized” by Sheriff Kevin Crews in recent years and given just one duty: protecting and serving Christmas cheer for Washington County children.

The effort is organized and led by WCSO communications officers and other staff.

“Deputy Jingles is working with our dispatchers to make sure Santa’s route is all mapped out for Christmas,” said Sheriff Crews. “There’s still plenty of time to be extra good.”

The community can help WCSO and Deputy Jingles on their mission by donating new, unwrapped toys. Toys can be dropped off at the sheriff’s office, located at 711 3rd Street in Chipley.
