Jaci Renfro, upcoming Senior at Chipley High School, recently placed Third overall for her weight class at the USA National Weightlifting Competition in Pittsburg, PA.

“I am very happy and surprised to have placed, because I was against very talented girls.” Renfro said.

To qualify for this competition, Renfro had to compete in her weight class at the state level for the organization. She did so in May of this year, placing First Overall for her class.

Renfro has also received awards through the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA), including placing Second in her weight class for the FHSAA State competition.

“She has worked very hard with Coach Rudd over a long period of time, and it is nice to see her hard work pay off.” stated CHS Athletic Director, Marcus Buchanon.

“Jaci’s achievement in weightlifting is a testament to her hard work, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Her success inspires us all and exemplifies the strength and determination that we value at our school.” said CHS Principal, Alicia Clemmons, when asked about Jaci’s accomplishments in this sport.

Jaci also wanted to express her thanks to the community saying, “I am so grateful for every person that donated and believed in me…this made me work so much harder.” She is also “so happy to bring back a bronze medal to Chipley!”, and plans to continue her weightlifting journey this upcoming season.
