Playhouse tops off inaugural theatre camp with Seussical Jr.
CHIPLEY The inaugural theatre summer camp at the Spanish Trail Playhouse culminated Saturday, June 19, with the presentation of Seussical Jr. by its young participants.
About 40 Children ages 7-12 attended the week-long camp, where they learned about musical theatre under the direction of Spanish Trail Playhouse President Kevin Russell and Dianna Floyd.
Throughout the week, campers worked toward bringing a fully produced staged, choreographed, costumed, and scenically designed musical to realization on the stage. That vision paid off with the campers debut as an ensemble on Saturday.
All proceeds from this years camp fees and Seussical Jr. ticket sales will support both next years theatre camp, as well as efforts to replace the playhouses 40-year-old seating.
For information on how to donate to the theatres seating fund, call the Spanish Trail Playhouse box office at 850-638-9113 between 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Thursday.
