Annual BBQ in the Pines festival returning Nov. 12


Your nose is not deceiving you. The annual BBQ in The Pines Festival presented by Florida Power & Light is returning to Washington County on Saturday, Nov. 12.

The festival will be held from noon until 8 p.m. at Hard Labor Creek Plantation located at 1963 Hard Labor Road in Chipley. The festival serves as one of the largest fundraising events of the year for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.

Local and regional BBQ teams will compete for prizes and bragging rights in the BBQ Cook Off Competition. Festival-goers can enjoy great food, live music, arts and crafts vendors, a free Kids Zone (inflatables and games) and a Single Action Shooters Performance.

The band “BTP Legends” will perform from 3 to 4:30 p.m., BBQ team judging is from 5 to 6 p.m. and closing the festival will be music from the band “Limited Edition” from 6 to 8 p.m.

Admission is only $10 per vehicle and $10 per cooler. Must be 21 to consume alcoholic beverages and no glass or hard liquor is allowed. Vendor applications are still available by contacting the Chamber office.
