Council on Aging holds Senior Expo

CHIPLEY – The Washington County Council on Aging held its annual Senior Expo Tuesday, April 20, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley. This event is designed to connect the community’s senior citizens with resources and education covering a variety of topics ranging from healthcare and services to safety information such as how to spot scams which target seniors.

The Senior Expo has traditionally been held at the Washington County Agricultural Center; however, organizers say ongoing renovations to repair flood damage from Hurricane Sally forced them to find another venue. Organizers went on to say that Shiloh Baptist Church stepped in to offer their facilities for this yearÂ’s event, and that the churchÂ’s assistance was instrumental in ensuring the expoÂ’s success.
