WCSO investigating body found near Ebro


The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death in the Florida Forestry Service camping area in Ebro.

WCSO received a call around 12:30 p.m. on August 30, regarding a body that had been found deceased. Investigators arrived on scene following the call.

 Once on scene, the investigation began. The remains are of a white male 5’6 – 5’9 inches tall, 130-150 pounds with short dark colored hair.

WCSO stated the remains were found near a primitive camping site with a few pieces of camping equipment. WCSO believes the remains had been present for two to four days before being discovered. No personal identification or any evidence to identify the deceased were found on the remains or at the camping site.

Investigators have followed up on multiple leads and are being assisted by the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Medical Examiner’s Office. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
