Wrestling Against Cancer 8 will be held April 29 in Panama City for Donna Duncan who has been battling colon cancer for nearly four years. [CONTRIBUTED]

The pro wrestling community is once again coming together to fight a common opponent – cancer.

The Wrestling Against Cancer event slated for April 29 will help offset the medical expenses for Southport native Donna Duncan who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019 and has been battling since then with medical bills piling up.

This is the eighth Wrestling Against Cancer event hosted by organizer Jack Patterson who has a passion for helping families dealing with cancer offset the often staggering medical costs.

“I’ve been led to help the community in this specific way,†Patterson said. “God put it on my heart, and I prayed about it. I let the Holy Spirit lead me. Cancer hits hard and leaves a lot of people in financial need. I hope the community will come out and help support Donna Duncan on April 29.â€

Just some of those scheduled to appear are Chase Hansen, Pretty Boy Donnie B, Ravyn Knight, Chief Little Bear and Emily Locke. There is a full roster with many well-known wrestlers making an appearance.

Wrestling Against Cancer will be held Saturday, April 29 at Bay Haven Charter Academy in Panama City. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with bell time at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for kids 6 to 15 years and children under 5 have free admission. All proceeds will go to Duncan.
