David L. Riley announces candidacy for BOCC

David L. Riley has announced he is running for the District 1 seat on the Washington County Board of County Commissioners.

Riley said he brings “a unique combination of formal education and practical experience to the table.”

“With a background in the building and maintenance of roads, drainage systems, and critical infrastructure, coupled with over 20 years of experience in the law enforcement community, I am well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of this role,” he said,

Riley said his expertise in infrastructure development will be “invaluable in addressing the infrastructure needs of our county.”

“Moreover, my years of service in law enforcement have given me a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our community and how to effectively address them,” he said. “I am a dedicated community leader and experienced public servant who is committed to utilizing my skills and experience to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens, while also promoting growth through the improvement of infrastructure, promoting economic development, and advocating for social issues in our county.”

Riley said with a strong foundation in both technical know-how and community service, he is “fully prepared to lead as your County Commissioner and serve the needs of our county with integrity and dedication.”  

“I believe that these qualities are essential for effective leadership and I am eager to use them to serve my community in a greater capacity as County Commissioner,” he said. “As a first responder and father of three, my values are hard work, integrity, and accountability. With my passion for public service and proven track record of success, I am the clear choice for county commissioner and will work tirelessly to make a positive impact on the lives of those I represent.”
