Chipley will soon have a new restaurant to enjoy when Beef ‘O’ Brady’s opens its doors later in 2023.
The Chipley City Council recently approved a development order and certificate of appropriateness in order for developers to move forward with the project.
The 5,200-square-foot building will be located next to One Florida Bank on the east side of State Road 77 on 1.1 acres complete with a full parking area and stormwater drainage.
Owner Scott O’Brien also owns the franchise in Marianna and says he and his family have been wanting to bring a Beefs to Chipley since 2008.
“My family and I believe that Beefs will be a great fit for the Chipley community,†O’Brien said. “When the right time and place presented itself, we agreed as a family to open a location in Chipley.â€
One of the biggest misconceptions people have is that Beefs is a bar with a restaurant but O’Brien is quick to change that view.
“We are a family sports pub with a bar inside,†O’Brien said. “We have great food served in a great family oriented atmosphere with TV’s and sports playing all around.â€
The Marianna location operates as one of the top four Beefs in the nation, something O’Brien hopes to accomplish in Chipley as well.
“We kept a full staff during the pandemic and our turnover rate is not high,†O’Brien said. “We treat our employees like family, and I believe that shows in how well our location does.â€
O’Brien and his family are huge supporters of local events in Jackson County and plan to do the same in Washington County. Providing food for various events is just a small part of what the O’Brien family brings through their business.
“My greatest motivator through this venture is to complement the already great community of Chipley,†O’Brien said. “We are not successful without our community and because of that we are able to give back.â€
The current status on the project is waiting for bids to finalize as well as the contract with their financial institution.
“We hope to tentatively break ground in May,†O’Brien said. “Our expected opening date will be in the fall. We are excited to come to Chipley and become a big part of the community.â€
